It’s one of the busiest times of the year folks! As the temperature starts to wander up the thermometer, we’re heating up in the clubs! Three shows on the ol’ sked for you this week.
THURSDAY – We have a very special evening, in celebration of Lisa’s big birthday (Lisa’s the boss!!!). Our good friend Lucky Ron is joining John for a fun celebration out at the Ashton Brew Pub, 113 Old Mill Rd., Ashton! The show is 6pm-8pm and will be in the party room downstairs, right next to the ABC beer vats!! Woot! It’s a pass-the-hat event to help pay for the artists.
FRIDAY – John’s playing the Preschool St. Patrick’s Day Party at the Firehall Community Centre on Sunnyside Dr. in Ottawa. the event is 9:15am-11:15am and is $9 per child (with adult)!!
SATURDAY – The ALLAIRE SHOW at Quinn’s features Tony D! He is a two-time Juno Award–winning guitarist and one of Canada’s most respected blues players. A full-time professional for over 40 years, he cut his teeth on blues, rock, and jazz, learning straight from the vinyl of legends — and even spent three days playing rhythm guitar for Buddy Guy as a teenager. He later opened for Stevie Ray Vaughan at Ottawa’s NAC. Best known as the longtime lead guitarist for MonkeyJunk, Tony has toured internationally, earned multiple Junos and over 25 Maple Blues Awards, and recently released his first solo album in 20 years — a powerful distillation of a lifetime in the blues.
Doors at 2pm, Showtime 3pm-5pm. A “Pay-What-You-Can” event.
