November 10/25
Aloha from beautiful frigid downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario!
Four shows this week back in the snowy Nation’s Capital!
1. THURSDAY The ALLAIRE SHOW WEST at Brews and Blues in Stittsville (1523 Stittsville Main) features singer-songwriter and veteran blesman Murray Kinsley! https://wickedgrin.ca/ Reviewers have described Murray Kinsley, a Maple Blues Award winner, as stripped-down, hellaciously rockin’ new blues with the distinctive voice and guitar-work. He brings innovative original blues to venues and festivals across Canada, the US, England, and Germany. 7pm-9pm Reserve your table 613-663-7798.
2. FRIDAY It’s the Original Week-Ender at O’Brien’s Roadhouse 730 Industrial near Train Yards. The Johnny’s Jukebox show full of singalongs and laughs. 6:30-9:30pm
3. SATURDAY AFTERNOON – The ALLAIRE SHOW CENTRAL at Quinn’s features Alex Boyd ! Not to be missed! Alex grew up immersed in music—his childhood spent in his father’s vinyl store, Compact Music. He started piano lessons around age five and switched to bass by age twelve. He also joined the Christ Church Cathedral’s Men-and-Boys Choir and formed his first band at 13. As the lead vocalist and bassist for The Riot Police, Boyd co-wrote material alongside bandmate Ian Sabourin. The band—an Ottawa-based indie-pop/rock ensemble that later relocated to Toronto—released their sophomore album The Crossing, which spotlighted the duo’s harmonies and poetic lyrical style. Doors open at 2pm, showtime 3pm-5pm! 1070 Bank St. (first come, first serve seating. No reservations.)
4. SUNDAY – It’s the Acoustic Afternoon series at The Laff in The Market! The historic Chateau Lafeyette House is the place to be 3pm-6pm as John plays a mix of his originals alongside his favourite barroom stompers. Yeeehaaw!
