A couple of shows this week for you folks!
SATURDAY – The ALLAIRE SHOW at Quinn’s Our guests are Evensun. They are a Montreal-based trio blending folk, roots, and vintage pop influences into a warm, harmony-driven sound. The group evolved from an earlier project called Esmé & Sons, marking a new musical chapter under the Evensun name. Their music draws on classic songwriting traditions while incorporating modern indie-folk sensibilities, and the band is known for intimate live performances built around tight vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation.
The trio has released original material including a self-titled EP, and performs regularly in Montreal and surrounding regions, cultivating a reputation for thoughtful songwriting and a laid-back, roots-influenced style.
SUNDAY – John is playing The Maple & Moonshine Festival in Ottawa. It is a relatively new three-day country music festival held in the ByWard Market, designed to bring a Nashville-style vibe to the city.
John is playing 3pm-6pm at the Chateau Lafayette (The Laff) 42 York St. There is no cover charge for this show.
The festival features:
– 30+ artists across country, folk, and roots styles
– 10+ venues (bars and clubs throughout the Market)
– A mix of free and ticketed shows
– Extras like line dancing lessons, outdoor activities, and food/drink events
What makes it unique is the format—rather than one big stage, it’s a bar-to-bar music crawl, where people move between venues to catch different acts, similar to how live music works in places like Nashville.
See you out on the weekend!
